Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission is competitive on academic achievement and requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including Grade 12 English (C or U) with a minimum grade of 55 per cent; volunteer experience with children and youth is highly recommended but not mandatory. Applicants 19 or older with no OSSD may apply as mature students and either sit the George Brown Admissions Assessment in English or complete the equivalent upgrading credit. This programme page does not restate a language-test table, but George Brown's institution-wide English Proficiency requirement applies to applicants whose prior study was not in English: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 per band), TOEFL iBT 80 (minimum 20 per skill), PTE Academic 54 (minimum 50 per skill), CAEL 60 overall, or Duolingo 110 (minimum 90 production). Before placement, students must submit a clear Vulnerable Sector Check (renewed annually), required immunization and medical records, and a Standard First Aid/CPR-C certificate.
