Overview
An accounting education helps you to understand “the numbers” which is critical to the success of every type of business. In this increasingly complex and competitive business environment, accounting skills are very much in demand. The program provides a foundation in all of the functional business areas and a comprehensive education in specific accounting practices and theory. Students graduate ready to enter the workforce and support the accounting activities of any organization.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Georgian requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent for direct entry to this Diploma, or mature-student status for applicants without one. The programme's own prerequisites are Grade 12 English at the College or University level (ENG4C or ENG4U) and any Grade 11 or Grade 12 Mathematics at the College, University/College or University level, with a Grade 11 College or University-level course such as MBF3C or MCF3M needing at least 60 per cent. Mature applicants aged 19 or older, non-secondary-school applicants, and home-schooled applicants can also be considered, meeting the requirement through equivalent courses, upgrading, GED completion, or equivalency testing, and applicants with prior post-secondary coursework or relevant life or learning experience may qualify through Georgian's Credit for Prior Learning process. The programme page states no programme-specific language-test score; Georgian's institution-wide English Language Proficiency Requirement for diploma programmes applies instead — a minimum overall IELTS Academic score of 6.0, TOEFL iBT 79, or Duolingo English Test 110, from Georgian's international admissions page.

Programs outside the highly competitive list carry no equal-consideration date and are assessed on a rolling basis year-round. International applicants apply directly through Georgian's own portal with no published closing date and are assessed on a rolling basis while seats remain, though Georgian warns a program open when applied to may close before assessment. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
