Overview
The Master of Arts in Philosophy is a two-year, on-campus graduate program in integrally Christian philosophical scholarship, delivered in Toronto. The curriculum consists of three foundational courses, six elective courses, and one interdisciplinary seminar, together with a foreign-language requirement. Students work closely with an individual faculty mentor throughout the program, exploring core issues in philosophy of religion and related interdisciplinary fields through small-group and one-on-one study. The program concludes with a thesis of 17,000 to 25,000 words, which candidates defend orally before a faculty committee. Coursework is designed to build beginning scholarly competence, helping students develop a deeper grasp of their chosen field and their own scholarly voice. The program prepares graduates for further doctoral study, research, or teaching within a framework of Christian scholarship, and is one of four graduate degrees offered by the Institute for Christian Studies.

Admission Requirements: A four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent is required, preferably with an undergraduate concentration directly related to the applicant's intended field of study at ICS, together with an overall academic average of B+.
