Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Certificate in Health Foundations is a 32-credit undergraduate credential in the Faculty of Health that provides the foundational knowledge and skills needed to continue into further health care study. The curriculum combines anthropology, anatomy and physiology, university writing, psychology, and sociology with health-specific courses in mental wellness and communication, personal care skills, and introductory health research and health science. Students who successfully complete the certificate may apply, through a competitive declaration process, to continue into the final three years of KPU's Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing programs, or into other undergraduate programs at KPU or elsewhere. Admission to the Faculty of Health for this certificate does not guarantee a seat in a specific follow-on program; students intending to progress to Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing must separately declare that intention and be evaluated against those programs' own admission requirements. Graduates receive a Certificate in Health Foundations.
