Mathematical Sciences is a Bachelor of Science major at MacEwan University combining Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics, with Computer Science approached as the study of algorithms and Statistics as the science of collecting and analyzing data. Students select two of the three disciplines as primary areas of focus and complete required coursework in both, giving the program flexibility in emphasis while maintaining breadth across the mathematical sciences. The major comprises 60 to 72 credits within the 120-credit degree, with a minimum of 42 senior-level credits, following a four-year suggested course sequence. The program suits students preparing for careers or graduate study in applied mathematics, data science, statistics, computing, or related quantitative fields. Course sequencing and elective options are set out in the university's program and course calendar.
