Admission Requirements: As a Bachelor of Science, this program's IB route requires a completed IB Diploma with at least three Higher Level courses, IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches (SL or HL) or IB Mathematics Applications & Interpretation HL (the Applications & Interpretation SL and Math Studies IB courses do not satisfy the math requirement), one of IB Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and Grade 11 (or equivalent) Chemistry and Physics, the latter strongly recommended. Domestic BC applicants take Pre-Calculus 12 in place of the IB math requirement, alongside English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12. UBC publishes no institution-wide entry average; each program competes against its own applicant pool. International applicants need a recognised university-preparation credential (IB Diploma, GCE A Levels, Baccalaureat, Singapore-Cambridge GCE, Gaokao with a Chinese senior diploma, or equivalent), with at least 70 per cent in Grade 11 or 12 English if from an English-medium school. All other applicants meet English proficiency via IELTS Academic 6.5 (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 90, PTE Academic 65, Duolingo English Test 125, or CAEL 70.

Start Date:September 2027 - entry is to UBC's Winter Session, which runs September 2027 to April 2028 (Term 1 September to December, Term 2 January to April). UBC also runs a Summer Session from May to August, but not every degree admits to it.
Application Deadline:Apply by 15 January 2027, 11:59 p.m. PST, for September 2027 entry (Winter Session 2027/28) - this is UBC's university-wide undergraduate deadline and it is the same date for Canadian and international applicants, not a date set by this program. The online application opens in early October 2026 through EducationPlannerBC. Earlier dates apply only to major entrance awards: 15 November 2026 for international applicants (UBC International Scholars Program) and 1 December 2026 for Canadian citizens and permanent residents (Presidential Scholars, UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance and Beyond Tomorrow Scholars). UBC advises applying by the deadline because some programs stop accepting applications on that date; later applications may be considered but are not given the same priority. Document deadlines (transcripts, English-language evidence) are issued to each applicant in the Applicant Service Centre after applying.
