Overview
Occupational Health Nursing is a post-diploma certificate that prepares registered nurses to protect workers from workplace hazards, promote worker health, prevent illness and injury, and place workers in roles suited to their physical, mental, and psychosocial abilities. The 33-credit program is delivered through online distance education, allowing students to study while maintaining personal and professional obligations, and must be completed within four years of the first day of the term of acceptance. Graduates are prepared to write the Canadian Nurses Association Occupational Health Nursing certification exam and pursue careers in manufacturing, food processing, petrochemical, and mining industries, as well as health care agencies, government offices, and educational institutions.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must be actively registered as a Registered Nurse in Canada, or licensed as a nurse in another country, to be considered for admission. All applicants must meet an acceptable level of English language proficiency, demonstrated through official transcripts or standardized language evaluation results.
