Program details

Overview

This Master of Science in Kinesiology is a thesis-based, research-intensive graduate program centred on human movement, health promotion, and applied neuroscience, with specialization areas including outdoor physical activity education, Indigenous health promotion, sport management, biomechanics, ergonomics, exercise physiology, and sport psychology. Students conduct original research under faculty supervision, working through lab-based study, applied and experiential learning, and seminars that build skills in data analysis, research methods, and academic writing. The program runs two years full-time or up to four years on a flexible part-time basis, making it accessible to working professionals as well as recent graduates. It suits students who want to advance knowledge through research and benefit from close faculty mentorship in health and movement science. Graduates go on to work as research scientists or research associates, registered kinesiologists or exercise physiologists, and rehabilitation consultants or occupational health advisors, with many continuing into doctoral training or professional certification.
