Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL Plus) is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate completed over two semesters, combining three professional certifications — CELTA, TESL Canada and TESL Ontario — within a single program. Each term includes a dedicated practicum course; the first-term practicum is capped at a maximum of six students. Students teach English in authentic ESL classrooms while studying, build an e-portfolio, and receive instruction in Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA). Admission requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university, with a Canadian equivalency report where applicable, and English language proficiency for applicants whose first language is not English; eligible applicants are selected on the basis of previous academic achievement, English language proficiency, pre-interview tasks and interview performance.
