BA/BS in Philosophy and Health Sciences

Philosophy and Health Sciences is a joint major leading to a Bachelor of Arts at Simon Fraser University, combining coursework from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health Sciences and taught at the Burnaby and Surrey campuses. Students complete 120 units in total, including a lower-division Health Sciences requirement of at least 15 units and a lower-division Philosophy requirement of at least 12 units, followed by at least 21 upper-division Health Sciences units and 20 upper-division Philosophy units. The programme also satisfies SFU's university-wide writing, quantitative, and breadth requirements (6 writing, 6 quantitative, and 18 breadth units), and at least 60 of the 120 units must be completed at Simon Fraser University. To declare the major, students must complete one designated Health Sciences course and one of PHIL 201 or PHIL 203, each with a minimum grade of C-.
