Admission Requirements: UBC's admission page for this degree gives the standard Science-faculty prerequisites and defers to the university's general English Language Admission Standard for language scores. For International Baccalaureate applicants it requires IB Math Analysis and Approaches at Standard or Higher Level, or IB Math Applications and Interpretations at Higher Level; one of IB Biology, IB Chemistry, or IB Physics; Grade 11 or equivalent Chemistry; and Grade 11 or equivalent Physics, which is strongly recommended. A completed IB Diploma with at least three Higher Level courses is required. English is the language of instruction at UBC and all applicants must demonstrate English-language competency; the institution-wide standard the page links to accepts IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 90 overall with Reading 22, Listening 22, Writing 21 and Speaking 21, among other accepted tests.
