The UBC Micro-certificate in Analytics for Leaders in Ocean Management is a part-time online program which enables students to build their analytics knowledge and create solutions for sustainable-equitable development and management of blue economy conservation, marine biodiversity and natural resources.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: No formal admission requirement is stated for this UBC Extended Learning micro-certificate: the program page describes it as designed for professionals and researchers in fields related to marine biology and ocean management -- for example marine biologists, oceanographers, ecologists, environmental scientists, fisheries managers or data scientists -- but lists these as suggested backgrounds rather than mandatory prerequisites. It sets no minimum GPA and no English-language test score. The only stated requirements are technical: an email account, a computer, laptop or tablet, a web browser, a reliable internet connection, and a video camera and microphone for participation. No portfolio, interview or work-experience requirement applies.

Earlier dates apply only to entrance-award consideration -- 15 November 2026 for the International Scholars Program and 1 December 2026 for Presidential/Centennial/Beyond Tomorrow scholars. Several limited-entry programmes -- Law, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing (advanced entry), Occupational/Physical Therapy, Social Work and Teacher Education -- set their own earlier deadlines from October 2026 through February 2027. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
