Program details

Overview

The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) is a two-year, 51-credit graduate program delivered over four sessions at the Moncton campus, admitting students only in the fall term. The curriculum includes 36 credits of mandatory coursework and 15 credits of optional courses, culminating in a six-credit capstone project on a management topic. Coursework is distributed across the two years, with a heavier load in the first year and a final project completed alongside coursework in the second year. Admission normally requires a first university degree; applicants with a cumulative average below 3.00 may still be considered if they achieved 3.00 or higher in the final two years of their bachelor's degree. Applicants must also demonstrate functional knowledge of English and have completed a prerequisite statistics course. The program aims to develop analytical and practical understanding of business, foster creativity and leadership, and allow students to specialize through their capstone project. It suits working professionals and recent graduates seeking to build general management competencies and apply them to a substantive project in their area of interest.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires satisfying the general graduate admission conditions (University Regulation 22.1); applicants whose overall undergraduate average is below 3.00 may still be considered if they achieved at least 3.00 in their final two years. Candidates need proficiency in word-processing, database, and spreadsheet software, functional knowledge of English, and completion of STAT2633 (statistics) or its equivalent. Applicants complete a university and professional interest questionnaire and may be interviewed by the Faculty's graduate studies committee. Relevant work experience is an asset; candidates without a bachelor's degree may exceptionally be admitted with substantial professional or management experience, normally at least ten years.

Application Details

Start Date: Fall session only (no winter/spring intake)
Application Deadline: Canadian and permanent-resident applicants apply directly to Université de Moncton by recurring annual deadlines that carry no published calendar year: 31 August for autumn-term entry and 5 January for winter-term entry, with the Baccalauréat en science infirmière (Nursing) and Baccalauréat en design intérieur due 1 February, and the 16-month Baccalauréat en éducation due 1 February at the Moncton campus or 30 June at Shippagan/Edmundston. International applicants must apply by 31 May for autumn entry and 30 September for winter entry, with the 16-month Baccalauréat en éducation due 1 February at Moncton or 31 May at Shippagan/Edmundston. Applications received after these dates are automatically deferred to the following session, and Université de Moncton may close applications earlier if volume is high, so admission is firm rather than rolling. The admissions page's only calendar-year reference is to the Automne 2026 term already under way (registration closes 4 September 2026, classes begin 9 September 2026), which places the source's current context in the 2026-27 academic year; the next occurrences of the recurring deadlines above therefore fall in Hiver 2027 and Automne 2027. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
