Admission Requirements: Direct entry from Alberta high school. Required: English Language Arts 30-1, plus one course from Fine Arts, Humanities, Languages other than English, or Math/Sciences, plus three further courses from Humanities, Languages other than English, or Math/Sciences. There is no fixed minimum average; admission to the Faculty of Arts is competitive and the Faculty's three-year admission-average trend is low-to-mid 70s, but meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Indigenous applicants may be considered under the university's separate admission policy for Indigenous students. English language proficiency is required of all applicants regardless of citizenship.

The 1 March deadline is firm and late applications are not accepted, but admission decisions are then issued on a rolling basis, and offers made before 1 April must be accepted by 1 May 2027.
