Overview
The Master of Science (MSc) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is a thesis-based graduate program covering biochemistry, molecular research, and cellular and developmental biology, extending into genetics, immunology and bioinformatics with applications to cancer and clinical research. A bioinformatics specialization is available. Students attend Research Integrity Day sessions in their first year, complete a CIHR sex and gender training module, participate in a journal club, and present at an annual seminar, before submitting and defending an original research thesis. The program usually takes two years of full-time study to complete, with a four-year maximum, and admits students in May, September or January. Admission requires a four-year baccalaureate degree, a minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale over the past two years of full-time study, a current CV and two reference letters.
