This thesis and performance-based Master of Music program allows students to deepen mastery of their chosen discipline through intensive study in areas such as history, theory, practice, electroacoustic media, musicology, multimedia, sonic arts, performance, and music education. Depending on specialization, students submit a performance audition or recording, or a composition portfolio, alongside a one-page letter and two reference letters. The program has a maximum completion time of five years. Admission requires a completed Bachelor of Music degree, or equivalent, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale over the past two years of full-time study; no standardized test scores are required. The program admits students for the September term. The program is offered through the School of Creative and Performing Arts and supports both performance-focused and composition-focused specializations, culminating in a final examined thesis, recital, or portfolio.
