Requirements
Admission Requirements: General admission requirements of University of Lethbridge apply; programme-specific prerequisites are published on the official programme page. Domestic (Canadian high school) applicants need a final admission average of at least 65%, calculated from five distinct senior-year courses — one language arts course plus four others, drawn from the approved subject list (which varies slightly by province/territory) — with some programs requiring a specific course (for example Computer Science requires Mathematics 30-1, and Finance requires Mathematics 30-1 or 30-2) or a higher average. AP/IB credentials, post-secondary transfers, mature-student admission, and the Indigenous Student Success Certificate pathway are each assessed under their own criteria. International applicants are assessed on the same academic scale against their home-country credential equivalencies, through uLethbridge's international admissions office. All applicants (domestic and international) whose first language is not English must meet the university's English Language Proficiency requirement, most commonly through Alberta English Language Arts 30-1 (or equivalent) with a minimum final blended grade of 75%, three consecutive years of full-time secondary study in English, or an approved test: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 per band); TOEFL iBT 86 overall (min. 20 per section) — 4.5 overall (min. 4.5 per section) on the new scale; Duolingo English Test 120 overall (min. 110 per subscore); PTE Academic 61 overall (min. 60 per part); CAEL 70 overall (min. 60 per component); or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 176 (min. 176 per subscore). Graduate programs set their own requirements — for example, the MSc in Computer Science needs a four-year BSc in Computer Science (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 20 courses.
