Overview
UNBC's Master of Education is open to anyone who intentionally nurtures learning through teaching, mentoring or sharing knowledge, as well as to leaders, practitioners and community members wanting to deepen their practice. The degree carries two specializations: Educational Leadership, offered full time and primarily in person at the Prince George campus with some hybrid courses, for those committed to leading change in K-12 schools, post-secondary education or community organizations; and Inclusive Education, offered full time online for those supporting diverse learners and building inclusive learning environments. Both cohorts start together in July and run across six continuous semesters. The program is course based, comprising twelve credit hours of required courses taken with the whole cohort plus eighteen credit hours of specialization courses. Students maintain an e-portfolio of evidence of learning throughout, informed by a signature pedagogy of People, Place and Land, which feeds their exit course.

Admission Requirements: Admission follows UNBC's General Admission requirements from the Graduate Academic Calendar, since the program page states no separate academic prerequisites: a minimum overall average of 3.00 (B) in third- and fourth-year undergraduate courses. Applicants must submit a Statement of Interest covering their personal and professional background, chosen specialization, academic and scholarly qualifications, and career goals, plus two references who each hold at least a master's degree — one from a post-secondary instructor, the other from an academic or workplace supervisor or colleague.
