This certificate gives learners the office-assistant grounding needed to work as a professional administrative assistant, and is structured as nine modules taught across twenty-one live evening Zoom sessions over roughly four months. Coverage runs from computing systems in the workplace, including the Microsoft Office suite and Teams, through financial accounting basics and the reading of financial statements, business communications and business writing, records management fundamentals such as naming conventions, classification plans and retention schedules, travel planning, event and project management essentials, minute taking and meeting planning, and human resources and organizational dynamics. The program is aligned with the International Association of Administrative Professionals, so graduates who meet the association's other requirements may go on to sit the IAAP CAP exam.
