Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting

The Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting is a Telfer School of Management degree that builds a foundation in financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing and taxation. Students complete a common Commerce core of 63 units covering business, economics, statistics, marketing, organizational behaviour, information systems and strategic management, followed by a 45-unit accounting specialization with courses such as Intermediate Accounting I and II, Taxation I, Cost Accounting, Auditing Theory, Corporate Finance and Business Law, plus 12 units of electives, for 120 units in total. The specialization stream includes the courses required to apply for Ontario's Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation; a more flexible general accounting stream is also available for students who do not intend to pursue the CPA route. The program is offered in English and in French, with co-operative education and a French immersion stream both available, leading to a Bachelor of Commerce credential.
