Overview
This programme leads to a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Education and is intended for candidates who wish to undertake research in education, including through specific concentrations in Counselling Psychology and Health Professions Education offered under the same degree. It is thesis-based, and candidates must complete a minimum of six courses, 18 units, comprising EDU 6290 Research Methodologies, one further course from a set of quantitative or qualitative research-methods options, and 12 elective graduate-level education units, followed by a thesis proposal and a master's thesis. Thesis topics must be registered by the end of the second term of study. The programme is offered in both English and French, and an accelerated pathway to the PhD is available to exceptional students.
