BA/BS in International Studies

International Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island is an interdisciplinary minor offered through the Faculty of Arts. It examines the political, economic, cultural, and social relationships that connect countries and regions globally, anchored by core courses in international development and international politics. Students complete 21 semester hours (seven courses), combining mandatory foundational courses with electives drawn from disciplines such as politics, economics, history, geography, and language studies. The minor is intended to complement a primary major within the Bachelor of Arts, giving students an interdisciplinary perspective on global affairs alongside their main field of study. Students declare the minor through their myUPEI account while completing their degree requirements. The credential awarded is a Minor in International Studies.
