Overview

Studio Art is an intensive studio-based program exploring technical, aesthetic, and theoretical concerns in visual art, with course offerings in drawing, sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, and digital and integrated practices. All majors complete foundation-level coursework in drawing and sculpture plus one or two further studio areas depending on the degree chosen, and are expected to attend auxiliary activities such as visiting-artist lectures and exhibitions alongside a minimum of six scheduled studio hours per week for each studio class. The program is offered as a three-year or four-year Bachelor of Arts, a Double Honours combined with another subject including Art History, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours, along with a Minor; laboratory fees apply to most studio classes. Students can enter directly from high school, study full-time or part-time, begin the program off-campus, and start in the Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer term.

Minimum GPA: 70.00 / %

Admission Requirements: Admission is based on the College of Arts and Science's general entry standard: completion of secondary-level standing with a minimum overall average of 70% in the required subjects, or completion of at least 18 credit units of transferable university-level coursework at a recognized post-secondary institution with an average of at least 60%.
