Overview

The Catholic Studies Certificate offers an interdisciplinary approach to the academic study of Catholicism from the beginnings of Christianity in the ancient world to the presence of Catholicism as the largest Christian community in the world today, drawing on coursework in art history, drama, English, history, philosophy, religious studies, and sociology. The certificate requires 18 credit units: the mandatory course CTST 200.3, 3 credit units from CTST 204.3 or CTST 210.3, and 12 elective credit units from an approved list spanning several departments. The program can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis and may be started off-campus, with at least half of the required coursework completed at the University of Saskatchewan. Intake occurs in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer terms.
