The Curation Studies Certificate provides the knowledge and practical skills needed for employment in museums, galleries, and other institutions engaged in collections management, combining scholarly analysis with applied practice as a museum intern. Coursework covers curatorial practices, exhibition development, collections management, digital approaches, and curatorial ethics. The one-year, full-time certificate requires 27 credit units: the mandatory courses CMRS 315.3 and CMRS 415.3, 3 elective credit units from anthropology, art history, or curatorial studies, 9 credit units from foundational courses in anthropology, art history, or classics, and 9 credit units from advanced or specialized courses. The certificate cannot be entered directly from high school and can be completed on its own, concurrently with a degree, or after graduation, with intake in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer terms.
