The STEM Accelerator Certificate is offered through the College of Arts and Science at the University of Saskatchewan to build foundational skills for students who need to complete prerequisite science, technology, engineering, and mathematics courses before entering a bachelor's degree program. It comprises three courses, BIOL 90.3, CHEM 90.3, and PHYS 90.3, designed to prepare students for university-level science coursework in programs such as science, engineering, agriculture, education, and health science. The certificate is intended for students admitted to the College of Arts and Science or another University of Saskatchewan college who need additional preparation before beginning degree-level STEM courses. Admission requires Grade 12 standing with a minimum first-year entrance average of 70%, or eligibility through the Special (Mature) Admission category for applicants aged 21 or older with fewer than 18 completed post-secondary credit units. Support for students in the certificate is provided through the Trish Monture Centre for Student Success.
