Overview
Human Resources is a Bachelor of Business Administration Specialist offered at the University of Toronto Scarborough. The four-year program covers current human resources practices, applying HR theories to real-world problems through experiential learning. Graduates of the Specialist program are prepared to work across HR functions, including recruitment and selection, performance management, strategy, compensation, and industrial relations. Under the Specialist option, more than half of the required credits are in Management and Human Resources. First-year required courses include microeconomics and macroeconomics with a mathematical approach, calculus for management, introductory financial accounting, human resource management, principles of marketing, and management communications. The program includes a co-op option and requires a supplementary application. Students can pair Human Resources with options in a related or a completely different discipline as part of U of T Scarborough's flexible degree design.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with at least six Grade 12 'U' or 'M' courses, including English, Advanced Functions, and Calculus and Vectors, with a minimum 70% in English. The approximate overall grade range is mid-80s (mid- to high-80s for the co-op stream). A supplementary application (SAF) is required, and an interview may follow. Admission is under the Management admissions category (OUAC code TSM).
