Forest Conservation Science is offered at the University of Toronto St. George campus by the Forest Conservation and Forest Biomaterials Science program area, leading to an Honours Bachelor of Science, and is available as a Specialist, Major, or Minor. The Specialist requires 12.0 credits, including at least 3.5 credits at the 300-level and 2.0 credits at the 400-level, combining first-year biology and science coursework (BIO120H1 plus 2.5 first-year science credits) with FOR200H1 and FOR201H1 in second year, FOR301H1, FOR305H1, ENV334H1, and further forestry/ecology electives in third year, and the capstone FOR400Y1 plus FOR401H1 in fourth year. The program is open-enrolment: a student who has completed 4.0 credits may enrol. It provides scientific training in forest ecosystems, biomaterials, and conservation management, preparing graduates for careers or further study in forestry science, natural resource management, and environmental science.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six subjects at the 4U/M level, including English (ENG4U/EAE4U); the co-op component of Grade 12 courses is not used for admission. Forest Conservation Science is open-enrolment: a student who has completed 4.0 credits may enrol in the Specialist (12.0 credits), Major, or Minor.
