Spanish is offered at the University of Toronto St. George campus, leading to an Honours Bachelor of Arts, and is available as a Specialist, Major, or Minor, with a separate Certificate in Spanish Language. The program covers the language and literature of Spanish-speaking peoples, along with Hispanic linguistics, business Spanish, and the history and structure of the Spanish language. The Specialist requires 10.0 credits including at least 1.0 credit at the 400-level, the Major requires 7.0 credits, and the Minor requires 4.0 credits; the Certificate requires 2.0 credits in SPA courses at the 200-level or higher, with at least 0.5 at the 300-level or higher. Degree programs share core requirements: SPA258H1 (Introduction to Hispanic Literary Studies), SPA420H1 (Advanced Spanish Grammar), one course each in Hispanic linguistics, Spanish Peninsular literature, and Spanish American literature, and either SPA454H1 or SPA489H1. All programs are open-enrolment: a student who has completed 4.0 credits may enrol, and mandatory language placement testing determines course entry level.

Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six subjects at the 4U/M level, including English (ENG4U/EAE4U); the co-op component of Grade 12 courses is not used for admission.
