Secondary: Post-Degree Professional Program: Bachelor of Education Degree (BEd)

Admission Requirements: The published requirements for this post-degree professional program are a bachelor's degree from an institution UVic recognises; an average of at least "C+" (3.00 on UVic's 9-point scale) across the most recent 12 UVic units attempted, which is 24 credits or roughly eight courses; an average of at least "C+" (3.00) across the most recent two full years attempted, which is 30 UVic units or 60 credits; and an average of at least "B-" (4.00) in the specified courses for one or two teachable subject areas. UVic notes that 3.0 of its units equal two half-year courses - or, at most BC colleges and universities, 6 credits. Beyond those minimums you must have completed approved courses in English and in your one or two teachable subjects, and at least 75 hours of practical experience, paid or voluntary, working in educative ways with children or youth from Kindergarten to Grade 12; the Curriculum and Instruction website lists the approved courses. UVic states these requirements without distinguishing domestic from international applicants, so the same academic minimums apply to both. All applicants must satisfy UVic's English language requirement: transcripts alone suffice after four years of full-time English-medium study in Canada, otherwise a test is needed (IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no section under 20, CAEL 70, Duolingo 120, PTE Academic 65, Cambridge C1/C2 180 or four-skill MET 64).
