Academic Year: Three terms a year: Fall starting in September, Winter starting in January and Summer starting in May. Tuition and fee schedules run from 1 September to 31 August.

Admission Requirements: Camosun sets entry requirements programme by programme: the exact courses, grades and documents are listed on the Admissions tab of each programme page, and the college publishes no single academic cut-off that covers everything. What it does publish is a general college admission standard, an English standard, and one application route. HOW TO APPLY (both applicant types): one online application through EducationPlannerBC at apply.educationplannerbc.ca/camosun. The 2026-27 application fee is CAD 49 for domestic applicants and CAD 100 for international applicants; a seat is confirmed with a registration deposit (CAD 175 for domestic and continuing students). International applicants who apply to more than one programme pay the fee only once. Official transcripts must come straight from the issuing institution, and anything not in English needs a certified English translation. DOMESTIC APPLICANTS. You may apply at any time if you are 19 or older, have already graduated from secondary school, or are attending secondary school outside B.C./Yukon. Students in grade 12 at a Canadian secondary school who are still working toward graduation apply early, between 1 October and 15 May, for conditional admission: you go on the programme list when you apply and prove the requirements later. Not every programme offers this — open-enrolment programmes extend conditional admission to Canadian grade 12 applicants generally, while limited-enrolment programmes currently offer it only to B.C./Yukon applicants. Official transcripts are due by 15 May and reviewed against final or in-progress grades; final transcripts are due by 28 July; non-academic items such as an information session, work or volunteer hours, or a keyboarding test must reach Admissions by 30 June. Subject prerequisites can be met with the secondary-school course, an equivalent Camosun upgrading course, or a Camosun assessment. ENGLISH FOR DOMESTIC APPLICANTS: where a programme asks for English 12 at C+, Camosun accepts instead IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no sub-score below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 with no sub-score below 19, LPI 5 or above, PTE Academic 54 with no sub-score below 50, Cambridge C1 Advanced 174 with no sub-score below 169, CAEL CE 60 with no sub-score below 60, Duolingo English Test 110 overall, GTEC CBT 1200 overall (Reading 325, Writing 270, Speaking 260, Listening 335), or the Camosun English assessment. Where a C+ is required in an English 12 prerequisite, a C in the equivalent Camosun course is accepted. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS (anyone who is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident) meet a separate general standard first. Secondary-school graduation is compulsory if you will be 17 or 18 at the start of your first term; if you will be 19 or older it is strongly recommended and may still be needed for prerequisites; graduates aged 16 or under must contact International Admissions. ENGLISH FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS is met by B.C. Grade 12 English at C+ or a recognised Canadian equivalent, a recognised Pathway Partner certificate, or one of these tests: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no sub-score below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 overall with no sub-score below 19, PTE Academic or PTE Academic Online 54 with no sub-score below 50, Cambridge C1 Advanced 174 with no sub-score below 169, or CAEL CE 60 with no component below 60. Results must be under two years old, and TOEFL scores have to be sent by ETS using destination code 7527. These minimums apply even where a programme page shows a lower English requirement. English Language Development (ELD) programmes set no minimum but require the ELD Placement Test, and several Health and Human Services programmes demand higher scores or specific tests — check the programme page. Applicants schooled in English in one of roughly fifty listed countries (including the UK, Ireland, USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Jamaica and Singapore) should ask International Admissions whether an alternative route applies. DEADLINES DIFFER BY APPLICANT TYPE: domestic open-enrolment applications close on published early and late dates each term, while international applications are due 1 June for a September start, 1 October for January and 1 February for May, and seats can be gone before then.
