The Master of Arts in Psychology at the University of Waterloo is offered by the School of Psychology and provides research training in one of five specializations: Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Social Psychology. Students complete either a thesis or a master's research paper, with access to the school's research groups and laboratories. Admission normally requires an Honours bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Psychology with a minimum overall standing of 80% over the last two years of study, along with three academic references and completion of the School of Psychology application. Full-time study is delivered on campus and is designed to be completed over 24 months. Applicants whose prior education was not conducted in English must meet the university's English language proficiency requirements. The program admits new students in the Fall term.

Admission Requirements: Normally an Honours bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Psychology with a minimum overall standing of 80% in the last two years of study is required, along with three academic references and the School of Psychology application. Applicants whose prior education was not conducted in English must meet English language proficiency requirements, with a minimum IELTS Academic score of 7.0 overall (minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking) or TOEFL iBT score of 4.5 overall on the 1-6 scale (minimum 5 in writing and speaking).
