BA/BS in Jazz Composition

Jazz Composition sits within the Department of Jazz, a department operating since 2010 whose staff are active Czech and foreign jazz musicians, led by a guitarist and festival director. Students train as arrangers and composers for theatres, orchestras and small ensembles, and as artistic directors of their own musical projects. The three-year bachelor programme in Percussion Instruments and Jazz is taught in Czech on campus and leads to a follow-on master's. Graduates also work as studio players with recording experience, pedagogues at music schools and conservatories, private teachers, and jazz journalists writing articles, reviews and annotations.
