PhD in Finance

This doctoral programme prepares students mainly for scientific work in finance, in a relatively narrow specialised area. Students deepen theoretical and methodological knowledge in general economics, in the application of mathematics and statistics in economics, and in specialised professional language. Students gain expertise in financial decision-making, corporate finance, capital markets, banking and insurance, tax systems and international accounting standards. Subjects include macroeconomics III, microeconomics III, research methodology, managerial finance, professional English communication, accounting harmonisation, the financial system, banks and monetary policy, tax systems and business economics. Graduates can work in research and teaching, consulting, their own business, or senior roles in production, trade, financial and public-sector organisations. Study is on-campus or combined and taught in Czech.
