Overview

The laboratory technician programme connects theory and practice in laboratory techniques, analytical methods, microbiology, gene technology and the production and control of medicines. The first two semesters cover basic laboratory technique, analysis, microbiology and gene technology, with periods of in-depth project work. The third semester adds analytical methods for food and environmental testing, and protein purification. The programme lasts about two and a half years including practice. The fourth and fifth semesters combine a placement in a public or private workplace in Denmark or abroad with a project period. Compulsory activities such as laboratory exercises, assignments, theme tests and group work must be approved before students can sit exams.
