This Certificate IV extends the carpentry trade pathway, combining classroom units with a period of construction work attachment so graduates leave with practical site experience in building and joinery work. It is structured so that students who need longer to complete the practical component can still finish within the maximum allowed timeframe.
Applicants need a Fiji Year 12 Certificate pass with English, 12 years of continuous education, or equivalent, or completion of a Level 3 Certificate; those without that progression may still be admitted at 17 or older based on maturity, work experience or prior learning. The qualification runs for up to 2 years, carries 120 credit points and is delivered at the Samabula, Labasa and Ba campuses.
