Fiji National University's Certificate in Plumbing and Sheetmetal (Level 4) extends the Level 3 qualification, developing technical, vocational and interpersonal competencies that suit both employment and further training. Delivered over two years for 120 credit points at the Samabula, Labasa and Ba campuses, the programme builds transferable skills in teamwork, communication and occupational health and safety alongside advanced trade techniques, including gas and arc welding, that students can apply across plumbing, sheet metal and related industries as technology in the field keeps evolving. The qualification also reinforces traditional plumbing and sheet metal skills that remain relevant alongside newer techniques and materials. Entry requires scoring a pass in English within the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination, or twelve years of continuous education, or the Level 3 Certificate in the same trade; students who have passed Plumbing and Sheetmetal Level 3 are exempted from the first two quarters and enrol directly in quarter three. Mature applicants aged 17 or above without the standard progression may be admitted based on maturity, work experience or prior learning.
