Fiji National University's Certificate in Sports Science (Level 4) reflects the role of people competent in training, coaching and fitness work carried out on playing fields, courts, in laboratories and across the wider sporting industry. The one-year, 120-credit programme at the Nasinu campus prepares graduates to perform both routine and specialised tasks with individual responsibility or as part of a team. Units cover anatomy and physiology, physical fitness and exercise, sports techniques across disciplines such as athletics, swimming, rugby, volleyball, badminton and table tennis, food and nutrition in sport, kinesiology and body movement, strength and conditioning principles, and entrepreneurship and ethics. Entry requires the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination, equivalent to twelve years of continuous progression, scoring either 200 marks overall or at least 50 percent in English, Mathematics and Biology, or an equivalent qualification. Mature applicants are assessed case by case under the university's academic and student regulations.
