Fiji National University's Diploma in Accounting (Level 6) trains graduates for hands-on accounting roles across business and government, building skills in setting up and running accounting systems, tracking business results, compiling financial statements, keeping internal checks in place, and producing the management reports organisations rely on, including performance and accountability reporting for public sector bodies. Delivered over two years for 240 credit points at the Nasinu, Labasa, Namaka and Ba campuses, the programme pairs theory with practical training, leading toward career positions such as accountant, senior financial officer or office manager. Units span commercial law, academic English, operations and strategic management accounting, corporate and public sector accounting, finance fundamentals and corporate finance, microeconomics, computerised accounting, taxation law, and the law of associations, with electives letting students tailor the qualification to their planned career path. A four-month directed industrial attachment follows completion of half the coursework. Entry requires a pass in the Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination or internal annual assessment with a pass in English; applicants aged 21 or above who lack the standard progression may be admitted based on maturity, work experience or prior learning.
