This two-year Master of Science in Forestry trains graduates to carry out basic and applied research across the varied ecological and socio-economic settings that shape Fiji's forestry sector, while sharpening their grasp of the business and economics behind sustainable use of natural resources. Working across several disciplines, the programme aims to help students find and share solutions to sector problems, and to uncover ways of making production systems more efficient and sustainable through safe, environmentally sound forestry practices.
The degree runs at the Koronivia campus for 240 credit points. Entry calls for a Bachelor's degree in Forestry carrying a GPA of 3.0 or better, or an equivalent qualification. Holders of a related postgraduate diploma, spanning fields such as climate change, environmental science or agriculture, are admitted straight into the second year, while those who fall short of either route may still be considered in light of their maturity, practical experience or earlier learning, subject to prerequisites or an entrance test set by the Dean.
