The Master of Science in Engineering is completed entirely by thesis. Holders of a USP Bachelor of Engineering with a GPA of at least 3.0 can enter directly onto the thesis route, while Bachelor of Technology graduates with the same GPA must first complete four additional fourth-year engineering courses, selected by the relevant school, before becoming eligible.
Outside these direct-entry pathways, admission follows USP's general science and engineering Masters framework: a Postgraduate Diploma carrying at least 60 credits and a GPA of 3.0, or an equivalent Bachelor's or outside qualification route with GPA requirements between 4.0 and 4.5 depending on the pathway. As a 120-credit postgraduate degree based at Laucala, it is designed to take about a year full-time or two years part-time.
