Overview

The Master of Science programme in Physics uses a range of study methods, including self-study, solving problems with pen, paper and computer, small-group and team work, planning and carrying out laboratory measurements, and lectures and exercises. Students join the scientific community early, for example as summer trainees in one of the department's research groups. The degree aims to develop four strengths of a physicist: identifying the essence of natural phenomena and modelling them to solve complex problems; using computers, experimental apparatus and mathematical tools; teamwork and written and oral science communication; and learning and producing new knowledge. The programme is taught in English on campus over two years for 120 ECTS credits.
