Overview

The specialisation builds knowledge of biomedical-materials synthesis and characterisation, together with how biomedical devices interact with biological moieties at that interface, relevant to applications such as implant design, disease modelling and new transplantation therapies aimed at tissue replacement or repair. It covers tissue functionality, scaffold design, and aspects of stem-cell technology, alongside clinical outcomes and regulation, within the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering programme, which also offers Medical Physics and Biomedical Instrumentation, Biomedical Informatics, and Biomedical Micro- and Nanodevices as options.
