Program details

Overview

This first-year mechanics track covers an open, transversal range of mechanics, from fluid mechanics to solids and structures, with a research-oriented finality. It trains students in advanced theoretical and applied mechanics for modern technology and research, and it is harmonised with the M2 that follows. The teaching is organised into at least four strongly linked strands: foundations of solid, fluid and structural mechanics; mathematical tools for mechanics; numerical methods; and advanced topics in mechanics and mathematics. Theoretical preparation, numerical methods and research training are all emphasised, including through the research project. Capacity is 30 places.
