Diploma in Industrial Engineering

This Diploma in Industrial Engineering builds on an existing technical certificate or diploma to deepen students' engineering knowledge. The first-year coursework covers engineering management, strength of materials, transformers and induction motors, mechanics of fluids and engineering mathematics, giving students a broad technical base. Later coursework adds computational and engineering tools, electrical machines, digital techniques and microprocessors, and metallurgy, before moving into programmable logic controllers, renewable energy technology and engineering thermodynamics. The diploma is intended for holders of related technical certificates who want to consolidate and extend their qualifications in industrial engineering at the University of Guyana.
