Overview

Midwifery in UCD is a bachelor's degree built around women-centred care. The course prepares students to support mothers-to-be, infants and families across pregnancy and birth. Students learn the clinical and professional skills of midwifery through an undergraduate programme. Entry is through the CAO, and the Level 8 Bachelor of Science is open to Irish, UK and EU applicants but not to international non-EU students. Leaving Certificate subjects including English, Irish, Mathematics and a laboratory science are required.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Not available to international (non-EU) applicants. CAO points 2026: 502. Leaving Cert O6/H7 in English, Irish, Mathematics, a laboratory science subject and two other recognised subjects. HEAR entry route available.
