Program details
Overview
The Master of Philosophy in Pharmaceutics is a research degree in pharmaceutical science, built around independent research projects supervised by academic staff. Students explore advanced topics such as drug development, formulation and delivery systems, while taught modules sharpen their research methods, data interpretation and scientific-communication skills alongside the research work itself.
The course of study aims to grow specialist expertise in pharmaceutics for Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, strengthening the university's own research and graduate-training output, and giving graduates who want a research pathway the training to pursue it. Those who finish are set up to pursue focused career paths in pharmaceutical research, in industry development work, or in academia, including leadership roles within the field.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Entry requires a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry or Biochemistry from an accredited institution.
