Université du Luxembourg offers Bachelor in Engineering - Energy and Environment, a bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering programme in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. The programme runs for 3 years. It carries 180.0 credits (ECTS). Tuition for international students is EUR 400 per semester (EUR 400 per semester for local students).
This pathway of the engineering Bachelor pairs a general grounding in engineering with the know-how required to make buildings and towns more sustainable. The opening semesters deal with mechanics, heat and thermodynamics, mathematics and CAD, while later terms bring in renewables, water networks, energy systems and an introduction to running a business; a semester is also spent studying abroad. Topics range from technical equipment in buildings and the handling of water and refuse in cities to the cleanliness of the air we breathe, the rules protecting the environment, and how towns are planned. During semester five each student selects a profile, centred either on energy and environment in buildings or on sustainable energy technology. The closing semester pairs the thesis with electives, for instance managing projects or intellectual property. Lectures run in German, French or English depending on the module, German at B2 level is obligatory, and part-time enrolment is possible. The faculty brochure names engineering consultancies, energy firms, construction, manufacturing and the public sector as destinations, as well as Master's study.
