Overview
Launched at the University of Macau in 2009, this Master of Science in Finance is taught by well-known scholars from the Faculty of Business Administration, and is built around skill-building courses together with experiences meant to broaden character, for qualified students with a strong mathematical background who want an advanced degree in finance.
Emphasis falls on quantitative skills that prepare students for work or further study. Courses link taught material with independent thinking, and include industry-related subjects in areas like banking and corporate finance as well as research methods to strengthen students' research skills. A course on financial technology covers FinTech financing and financial innovations.
The programme keeps a close relationship with the CFA Institute: several faculty are CFA charterholders, and the university's BSc in Finance is recognised under the CFA Institute's University Affiliation Programme. A brochure is available for download from the programme site.
