Master of Education

The MEd is a two-year evening programme taught in English and Chinese by the School of Education at the University of Saint Joseph, on the Ilha Verde Campus in Macao. Study through coursework concentrates on curriculum development, inclusive education and leadership, with attention to current issues and trends. Two specialisations are offered: one covers inclusive education for learners with special needs, and the other covers the management and leadership of schools. The special needs route is meant for teachers who work with, or wish to work with, students with learning disabilities in mainstream schools. It covers theory, evidence-based methods and practical aspects of teaching in diverse, inclusive classrooms, building the competence needed for supporting gifted students and those who have special educational needs. Evening classes allow working teachers to attend. The programme is run by the School of Education, which also runs an undergraduate education degree on the same campus.
